What the backup switch does

When cloud backup is on, Gleamit uploads a copy of your data to a private app area of the Google Drive account you picked. Only Gleamit can see that area, and it cannot see anything else in your Drive.

Turning backup off in Gleamit, or disconnecting the Google account in Gleamit, does not delete the copy already in Drive. It only stops new uploads. The copy stays in your Drive until you delete it there.

Delete the backup from Google Drive

  1. Open the Google Drive app, or go to drive.google.com in a browser.
  2. Tap the menu (three lines) or your profile picture, then Settings.
  3. Choose Manage apps.
  4. Find Gleamit in the list.
  5. Tap Options next to it, then Delete hidden app data. Confirm.

Disconnect from Drive, in the same menu, is the other way round: it takes Gleamit's access away and deletes the copy with it.

If you connected more than one Google account over time, repeat these steps in each account.

iOS

What the backup switch does

When cloud backup is on, Gleamit writes a copy of your data into a private area of your iCloud Drive, hidden from the Files app so it cannot be moved or deleted by accident. iCloud does the uploading, following your iCloud settings.

Turning backup off does not delete the copy already in iCloud. It only stops new uploads. The copy stays in your iCloud storage until you delete it there.

Delete the backup from iCloud on your iPhone

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Tap your name at the top to open Apple Account, then iCloud.
  3. Tap Manage Account Storage. On older iOS versions this is Manage Storage.
  4. Find Gleamit in the list of apps using iCloud storage.
  5. Tap it, then Delete Data from iCloud. Confirm.

Delete the backup from a Mac

  1. Open System Settings, then Apple Account at the top.
  2. Click iCloud, then Manage.
  3. Find Gleamit in the list.
  4. Click it, then Delete Documents and Data. Confirm.

Delete all Gleamit data

Deleting the app removes everything stored on the phone: brushing sessions, teeth, photos, documents, reminders and settings. There is no Gleamit account and no Gleamit server, so nothing of yours is held by us to delete.

Your own cloud storage is the one place a copy outlives the app. If cloud backup was ever on, follow the platform steps above as well, so nothing is left in your Google Drive or your iCloud.
